What happened while our leaders were away?

Exactly what was needed happened: new leaders emerged, and we discovered new skills within the team. We learned a great deal from each volunteer. The volunteers attended with joy and energy every Saturday, generously giving their time and knowledge to the club members.

God did beautiful things in the participants, but today I want to talk about what emerged in the team.

Gene and Robin faithfully attended all eight Saturdays we were without the leaders. Their support was so comforting. Although communication was very difficult due to the different languages, they did a great job. They welcomed the new volunteers this season with the most loving welcome I've ever seen.

Karla is the Club Aslan Coordinator and showed why she is the right person for this job. She was planning super fun games and lessons that, without a doubt, left their mark on everyone's minds and hearts.

A few months ago, Tania discovered that one of her gifts is service, and how wonderful that she did! She's been able to practice it a lot these past few months. But it's not her gift I want to talk about, but rather the great love she has for Jesus, for every member of the club, and for every volunteer. When I think about God's love, I can definitely think of all the ways Tania has shown us that she loves and cares for us every chance she gets.

Bessy also played an important role on the team. In the midst of her university internship, she made time to share with us, teaching us about the Bible with simple and practical lessons. She also kept two new volunteers, Ely and Nidia, motivated.

In these past few months, we were able to get to know them thanks to Bessy. Meeting our new volunteers has been a true blessing. They both work, so whenever they have a free weekend, they join us to serve at the club. They even attended the club without Bessy.

So while the leaders were away, we continued to serve joyfully, learning from one another and growing in our relationship with Jesus and with each other. I can say that we are ready for everything God is preparing for this ministry and for our lives. Joy and love are the most evident fruits, and we all share them. We accept challenges with joy and have a willing heart to learn.

For us it has been so simple to obey the commandment in John 13:34, which says that we should love one another.
