Peep the Easter Vibes đź‘€

This year's Easter celebration was unforgettable at Club Aslan! Sure, the rain tried to throw off our plans, but it couldn’t stop the joy, laughter, and most importantly, the message of hope we shared with the children who attended.

We had invited the whole community, but this year, it was the little brothers and sisters of our Club members who showed up in full force. At first, we felt a little disappointed that no adults came, but as those small, eager faces filled the room, we knew God had brought exactly who He wanted to be there. And what a celebration it turned out to be!

When the rain made an outdoor egg hunt impossible, we quickly improvised and turned the hunt into an exciting trivia competition about the resurrection story. Each correct answer earned them a step closer to a treasure chest of colorful Easter eggs packed with prizes! Watching their excitement as they learned more about Jesus’ resurrection was a joy. The rain might have changed our plans, but it couldn’t dampen their enthusiasm—or ours!

But the real highlight of the day wasn’t the eggs or prizes. It was sharing the Gospel. Here in Honduras, Holy Week is often centered around the death of Christ, and the hope of His resurrection is rarely emphasized. For many of the children, this was the first time they heard the life-changing truth that Jesus is alive and that His resurrection offers us hope and salvation.

Our wonderful volunteers brought the story to life with a felt board presentation, making it easy for the kids to follow along. They watched, wide-eyed, as Jesus’ journey—from the cross to the empty tomb—unfolded before them. The room was filled with curiosity and wonder as they heard how Jesus’ love conquered sin and death, offering us the gift of eternal life.

The celebration also included cake, games, laughter and some creative fun as the kids colored Easter pictures. It was a simple but powerful reminder that even in the smallest of things, joy and hope can shine brightly.

By the end of the day, our hearts were full. It wasn’t the Easter celebration we had originally planned, but it turned out to be exactly what it needed to be. Those little ones left with smiles on their faces, prizes in their hands, and, most importantly, seeds of faith planted in their hearts. We are so grateful to our incredible team of volunteers, who truly embodied the love of Christ through their patience, creativity and devotion to these kids.

This Easter, we were reminded that the resurrection isn’t just a story—it’s the foundation of our faith and the reason we have hope. Rain or shine, Jesus is alive, and His love changes everything.

He is risen! Hallelujah!
