What can a simple game of checkers do in Honduras? Studies show that children who regularly play games are better adjusted, work better in group settings, and are well prepared for leadership. We also know that games give families, mentors, and young people the time to connect with one another. Conversations, laughter, and even some tears shared around the game table allow us to strengthen relationships while teaching important life skills. Club Aslan is a youth program designed to bring the power of play to the at-risk young people in the La Esperanza community.
